Frequently asked questions
New clothing that’s made from recycled cotton saves 75%-99% water use and emits at least 50% less greenhouse gases vs. clothing made from new materials. Products made from recycled polyester also save up to 60% energy consumption and at least 30% in greenhouse gas emissions. In this way, existing fabrics are given a second life in order to conserve natural resources. The result? Quality products, less clothing waste, fewer wasted resources and a better environment.
At refurbed, we offer a sustainable alternative to conventional clothing. We are the first platform for clothing made from recycled materials, giving you the best of both worlds: a new product that meets your quality standards, and a product that ensures high comfort while protecting our environment. In addition, we also plant a tree for every garment sold, making your purchase CO₂ neutral.
With recycled cotton, no farmland is needed for cultivation. This results in savings in water, energy and greenhouse gases. It also allows existing fabrics to continue their lifecycle.
Refurbed is an online marketplace for new clothes made from recycled fabrics and for refurbished electronics. Products are sold by existing retailers and brands through our platform.
No. We only sell newly produced clothing made from recycled materials. This way we can ensure quality and comfort and deliver you a flawless product.
Yes, you can return your products to the retailer free of charge for a full refund within 30 days.
In addition to the legal warranty, we offer a 12-month guarantee. The guarantee covers all defects, i.e. everything that counts as poor workmanship of the product and has come about through the manufacturing process.
At refurbed, only verified brands are allowed to offer their products. All retailers produce their garments in Europe, which also allows us to guarantee safe working standards, product quality and shorter transport routes.
The environment is very important to us. For this reason, we have set ourselves the goal of standing up to the ‘throwaway society’ and mountains of annual clothing waste. We do this primarily by giving as many people as possible the opportunity to buy clothes made from recycled materials. Additionally, we plant a tree for every product sold. Tree planting is in place to offset any CO₂ produced in making our clothes, which makes it possible for you to buy clothes in a CO₂-neutral way. Our trees have been planted for years with our partner organisation Eden Reforestation Projects. Eden plants these trees in various countries, such as: Madagascar, Haiti, Nepal or Mozambique.
All products are made from a minimum of 50% recycled materials.
